What’s your favorite Stampin’ Up! color?
I’m really going to miss Lost Lagoon when it’s gone next month. I’ve used it in so many color combinations in the last two years, but I don’t think I’ve ever paired it with Wild Wasabi. Gotta say, I’m sorry it took me so long to put them together.
Look at what a cool, calm, “serene silhouette” they make together! 😉
I’m really kind of proud of what I did with the bird-in-the-tree stamp on this card. I stamped the entire image in Wild Wasabi so the branches would be green, then I went over the birds with my Lost Lagoon Stampin’ Write Marker to give them just a little pop.
I actually colored right over the green birds after they’d been stamped!
I thought about using markers on the stamp, but I’m glad I didn’t do that — this effect is just ever-so-much subtler. (I checked! I went back and tried the other method afterward just to see!)
And after I stamped the sentiment from the Petite Pairs stamp set in Lost Lagoon, I think the colors work off each other just the way I hoped they would.
The crochet trim that I used is retired, but I like the soft effect that it gives the card. If you like the look, it’s very similar to the current Venetian Crochet Trim, and not too dissimilar to the Sahara Sand Lace Trim. Both of these other trims are on the Retiring List, so they’re only available while supplies last. They’re also on sale right now, so they’re a great deal!
Here’s what I used to make this card:
