Cards & cardmaking

I needed to make a card last week for my husband’s birthday.  Those of you who know him, know he is a total car fanatic — and that’s putting it lightly!  So I knew I wanted to use the car from the Need for Speed stamp set on his card.  I took a quick look at last year’s catalog and found my design inspiration in the card sample for the set:

 

So all I needed was to pull out the colors I wanted and start creating! It couldn’t have been easier, and I’m very happy with the end result:

Here is the second Fathers’ Day card I made over the weekend to compare the new In Colors to our existing colors.

This one uses Midnight Muse as the background layer, for the punched shape, and the ink.  The other blues, in order left to right starting on top are:  Night of Navy, Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, then on bottom Marina Mist, Bashful Blue, and Not Quite Navy.
