I admit it. I don’t have a creative bone in my body. But I absolutely love stamping and scrapbooking! So what’s a creatively-challenged girl to do?
Copy and steal everything! (Or, the alternate form: copy and share everything…)
CASE-ing is a term we papercrafters use to describe a project that was either copied directly or inspired by someone else’s work. And it’s a skill I’ve become quite good at using. 🙂
Give me a blank piece of cardstock, some stamps and ink, and some embellishments and set me to work — I’m going to sit there and stare for hours, completely overwhelmed by my crafting choices.
But… also give me a picture of someone else’s project and I’ll set to work immediately! It’s just that little bit of inspiration that’s needed to get the ideas flowing.
For example, here is a photo of a card that I love, created by Kris McIntosh:
It’s a simple layout, but I like how she did it. So I adapted it:
I simply changed the color scheme to Pool Party and used Moving Forward, this year’s Ronald McDonald House set — which is retiring at the end of this week.
And now it’s a whole new card!
Be sure to come back tomorrow to see another version of this layout…
